Update on T Street Shooting of Taxi Driver

We have more information on the Saturday-night shooting of a taxi driver that occurred in front of 1746 T Street NW. Based on additional police information, the suspect in the shooting is a man who rode up to the taxi on a bicycle while the driver was arguing with his passenger over payment. The man on the bike then shot the driver after an argument. The taxi driver is in stable condition. From MPD 2nd District:

Assault with a Deadly Weapon/Gun in the 1700 block of T  Street, N.W. (PSA 208), approximately 11:30 p.m. on 01/09/10 – The complainant, a taxi driver, dropped off a  fare/customer in the 1700 block of T Street, N.W. Once at that location, the complainant requested payment for services rendered. There was an verbal altercation between the complainant and fare/customer. During the altercation, the suspect approached on a bicycle and an altercation developed between the complainant and suspect. The suspect pulled a handgun and shot the complainant. The complainant was transported to the hospital, where he was admitted for his injuries. The complainant is in stable condition. The suspect was described as a black male. No further information provided.

Three passengers flagged down the Barwood Cab driver in downtown Bethesda asking to be taken into D.C. The cabbie dropped off one passenger then headed to 17th and T streets N.W. The cab company owner says the driver blacked out and woke up covered in blood. He had been shot in the face.
