We have vigorously avoided taking sides in political contests or making posts that show much in the way of approval or disapproval toward an elected office holder. (I hope we succeed most of the time.) It is not the purpose of Borderstan.com.

This story — about a former officeholder — is too good to pass up. I hadn’t heard about former DC Councilmember Harold Brazil’s problems with law enforcement until I saw this posting over at City Paper’s City Desk News blog: ” Harold Brazil Alleges Racist Epithet Preceded His Pissing on Shop Floor.”

Nothing funny about the alleged use of a racial epithet, of course. But the rest of the story is… unusual for a former councilmember. Enjoy.
