A high-profile criminal trial gets underway today at the Moultrie Courthouse, 500 Indiana Avenue NW. The Swann Street residents of the house where Robert Wone was murdered on August 2, 2006, are standing trial for conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering. Last week the three defendants waived their right to a trial by jury; the presiding judge will render a verdict.

The defendants are Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky, all of whom were at home at 1509 Swann Street NW the night Wone was murdered; Wone was a guest in the house. To date, no one has been charged with Wone’s murderd.

The editors at Who Murdered Robert Wone? will have regular updates on the trial at the website, Twitter and Facebook. Their site is the place to go for news about the trial and the events surrounding Wone’s death. Be sure to read the article on the editors and the site in today’s Washington Post, “Web site grows out of fascination with Robert Wone killing.” One of the defense attorneys is quoted in the Post article: Bernard S. Grimm, one of the three defense attorneys, dismisses it as “salacious and vile and offensive.”

The trial could take about a month.
