Add the 1300 block of Corcoran St NW, where I was robbed and assaulted at gun point:

Saturday night around 12:20AM I was walking back from my friend’s house on Wallach Place. I turned from 13th St onto Corcoran, looked down the block and saw no others on the street or sidewalk. Just before I got to around 1334, 4 young African American men surrounded me and demanded my wallet. One pulled a 38 or 45 caliber pistol out and aimed it at me. I reached into my pocket to pull out the wallet, but realized I had tossed it into a shopping bag with a cake pan from a cake I had taken over to my friend. I opened the bag and said, “Here, take everything.” They looked through the bag and apparently did not see the wallet and threw the bag on the ground and demanded my cell phone. Before I could respond, they grabbed me, stuck their hand in my front jeans pocket and pulled out my phone. Once they had the phone, they threw me up against a car, punched me on the left side of my face, and as I turned to avoid a second strike, the one with the gun pistol-whipped the right side of my face.
Fortunately I was able to make it to my house and called the EMTs and police. I spent all night and day at GW Hospital. The blows to my face caused more than 8 fractures, breaking both sides of my lower mandible and my upper mandible, along with the bone around one of my sinus cavities. I am lucky to be alive. My jaws are wired and hopefully I will not lose any of the teeth. The surgeon wired them all back into place, but said that it will be several therapies to get my jaw bite into a proper alignment, with no guarantees.
The police acknowledged that there have been several such incidents in the neighborhood. Within 1-2 hours of my attack, someone was also attacked on 10th Street. I hate to be paranoid and fearful, but this will require a long time to recover physically and emotionally.
