What happened in Dupont Circle yesterday? Was there a bomb threat that caused the U.S. Park Police to clear the park? According to a participant of the 16th Annual Pride of Pets dog show, the park was cleared for about 30 minutes during the event.

Another eyewitness reported that around 4:30 p.m., the Park Police suddenly blocked off streets leading to Dupont Circle and then forced everyone to leave:

“Moments ago, US Park Police cleared Dupont Circle of all persons, announcing the move was ‘for everyone’s safety.’ Meanwhile, DCMPD and Fire/EMS had a heavy presence in front of the CVS, including no passage for pedestrians or vehicles. I don’t see anything on the news or blogs yet.”

Anyone know anything?

  1. T says:

The police suddenly noticed that there had been at least one car parked/standing in front of CVS at least 16 hours a day for the last 3 years and decided to make up for lost time.

Sorry to be unhelpful, but hearing that MPD was suddenly all excited about the area in front of CVS made me chuckle, I have to dodge a vehicle there every day on my bike.

There was a suspicious package at the CVS on the circle.

    Too many assholes!
I can deal with the Pet Show, sure, but 2 freaking buskers with PA at the same time, and those guys are there all week. OVerload!
