I got this Police Alert this evening from MPD’s Police Service Area (PSA) 208. There was an attempted burglary this afternoon on the 1700-block of P Street NW, apparently by rooftop.

Alert from the Metropolitan Police Department Second District: On Monday, June 29, 2009, an attempted residential burglary occurred in the 1700 block of P Street NW. We are working diligently to capture this suspect as well as increasing our police presence. In addition, we are asking for your assistance in securing your residence. This would include paying special attention to your roof hatches, skylights, and other roof top openings. If you observe any suspicious activity in this area such as, a person(s) on the roof or attempting to gain access to a roof, please call 9-1-1 immediately. – Acting Lt. John McDonald and Lt.
