The local rooftop burglar—or at least a rooftop burglar—made another attempt early on Friday, July 24 at 1:30 a.m. in Borderstan. However, he was foiled when the resident of the house in the 1500-block of Church Street NW heard him and scared him away.
According to MPD 2nd District, “Unknown subject(s) pried the lock to the skylight and entered the house. The complainant heard the noise coming from the third floor and yelled. The subject(s) fled out of the house through the skylight and ran westbound on the rooftop. Nothing was obtained from the house.”

- July 23, 1:30 a.m. Robbery with Knife, 1000 block of Connecticut Avenue N.W. As the complainant was attempting to enter her hotel room, the suspect grabbed her from behind and placed a box cutter to her neck. The suspect forced the complainant into the room, tied her up and stole her vehicle and property (gold/diamond rings; cell phone; and US currency). The suspect left the location with the complainant’s vehicle. The suspect was described as a black male; 30-33 years old; 6’1” to 6’3″ in height and approximately 200 to 220 pounds.
- July 23, 12:20 a.m. Robbery–Fear, 1200 block of 11th Street NW – Sidewalk.
- July 25, 4:30 a.m. Robbery with Force & Violence, 1300 block of P Street NW. An individual reports while riding a bicycle, a suspect pushed him off the bicycle. While on the ground, the suspect took the listed items. The suspect fled the scene northbound on a bicycle.
- July 25, 5 a.m., Sexual Assault, 1800 block of 18th Street NW. At approximately 5:00 AM this morning, a sexual assault occurred in the 1800 block of 18th Street, NW. There is currently no lookout available and the case is actively being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department.
