MPD: Stepped-up Patrols Underway in Borderstan

Dear Borderstanians,

Although, I could not make the recent meeting last Wednesday evening due to a personal commitment, I have spoken to Officer Michelle Caron, the PSA 307 representative, regarding its outcome . She has kept me abreast of your continued concerns in the neighborhood.

The PSA 307 officers, as well as our partnership with PSA 208 and the entire Metropolitan Police Department support your efforts to rid the area of crime and the fear of crime.

We are making significant inroads on the disorder with more presence and many good quality arrests, most felonies. There are two permanent PSA 307 Powershift Officers in the area. Officers Parrish and Carrion are working 8pm-4am. They are uniformed and omnipresent on R Street. Please feel free to introduce yourself to them.

Additionally, we have staggered unscheduled marked patrols, as well as two mountain bike units rolling through the 13th/15th Street to S Street-Rhode Island Avenue area on the 3-11pm shift. I have spoken to the Sergeant on the daywork shift regarding a boost in visibility and coverage.

We stand with you, as partners in change… for a better community.

Sincerely, David J. Terestre, Acting Lt. PSA 307- Third District Metropolitan Police Department
