Did You Vote?
D.C. residents may not have much sway in the balance of Congressional power, but there were still plenty of reasons to vote last night in the elections. The Top 10 lists were flying around on Twitter, but we’re partial to the list developed by TBD.com. Its political season, pandering is acceptable! Full analysis of results on the City Council and ANC’s to follow in the coming week.
Shaw Voting Altercation
TBD.com’s Sommer Mathis has the report on the bizarre drama at a Shaw precinct. ANC Commissioner and current Chairwoman of ANC 2C was transported as a precaution to the hospital, after a ‘tussle’ with Convention Center Community Association Chairman Martin Moulton. It seems the verbal altercation escalated and the elderly Brooks fell. DC politics, folks – they are never boring (especially in Shaw)!
Update on DC9 Death
The controversy over the cause of Ali Ahmed Mohammed’s death after an incident at DC9 may have to wait until December to be settled, Washington City Paper reports. Despite the fact that the delay seems unusual, the D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner says there’s nothing unusual and have 60-90 days to submit their report.
And Finally, a Bit of Levity
We are sure you took your civic responsibility seriously enough to knock back a few to celebrate or mourn election results yesterday evening. So while you are recovering, you can either mock or celebrate better days by reviewing Saturday’s Rally for Sanity signs, thanks to the Washington Post.
