I signed up for DC Police Alerts several weeks ago. Last night I got this one (highlighted text is mine):

The crime occured just east of the Borderstan border on the 1300-block of R Street NW. What shocked me was that one suspect was carrying a machine gun. You may recall an earlier posting from November 9 in which police in the Second and Third Police Districts warned that shotguns and AK-47s were increasingly being used in robberies.
