The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced an arrest in the bank robbery at the SunTrust Bank branch Friday morning. The suspect, 57-year-old Scott Lee Feuer of Southeast Washington, allegedly entered the branch located at 1369 Connecticut Avenue NW at about 10 am. According to police, he handed the teller a note demanding money and fled in the direction of the Dupont Circle Metro Station with an unknown amount of cash.

According to The Washington Post, MPD asked Metro Transit Police to hold all trains at Dupont just after 10am and the suspect was arrested by Second District MPD officers on a Silver Spring bound Red Line train. Feuer was charged with Robbery Fear.

MPD Detectives are investigating whether Feuer is involved in other recent incidents. A picture tweeted of Feuer in handcuffs exiting the Dupont Metro Station bears a strong resemblance to an image MPD released of the suspect in a Wednesday bank robbery of the SuTrust Bank branch in the 900 block of 17th Street NW, although the two cases have not yet been definitively linked.

Feuer (also known in some court records as Scott Lee Feuver) has a history of convictions for bank robbery. According to a U.S. Court of Appeals decision, Feuer was charged with six counts of bank robbery and one count of attempted robbery in 1996. He pleaded guilty to three counts of bank robbery in December 1996 and was sentenced to 115 months in prison and three years of supervised release in July 1997. According to Bureau of Prison records, he was released from federal prison in May 2005.
