Yep, they’re all mine… and my partner photographed them. And the bromeliads in the top row? They’re in pots and must come inside this winter. I fell in love with bromeliads when I visited Venezuela in July 2007 with Luis. While the orchid is the country’s national flower, the bromeliad is a close second. You see them everywhere.

According to MPD 3rd District, there was a shooting very early Saturday morning in Adams Morgan. This is from the MPD 3rd District listserv on Yahoo! Groups:
This morning there was a shooting in the 2400 block of 18th street NW. In the early morning hours there was a physical fight between two males. During the fight both males brandished handguns. The fight then turned towards control of the handguns. One male managed to wrestle the handgun away from the other. The other male then fired two rounds at the other males who ran away from the scene. Two officers who were on the scene observed what happened gave chase and made an apprehension. Two guns were recovered were on the scene and a arrest was made. – Inspector Edward Delgado, MPD 3rd District
