A victim was shot in the 800 block of T Street NW near the intersection with 9th Street NW at about 3:45 pm Tuesday afternoon. According to Police Service Area 306 Lieutenant Albert Jova, the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting suspect was described as a black male with dreadlocks wearing a black shirt and jeans. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the Metropolitan Police Department at 202.727.9099.

Mid-morning update: As I figured, it was an employee of the Starbucks at 16th and U NW… according to News Channel 8.

Borderstanians: Got this alert last evening from MPD’s PSA 208:

Today, at approximately 4:40pm officers responded to an establishment at 16th St NW and U St NW for reports of gun shots. Investigation revealed it was an accidental self-inflicting gunshot wound to the subject’s leg. Further investigation reveals the victim was an employee of the establishment and was concealing a small caliber handgun. At this time, the victim is in stable condition. The gun shot victim will be charged with hand gun violation in the District of Columbia.

What business was it? He’s lucky he only shot his leg.

Early details on a shooting that occured late this afternoon. The incident occured in the rear of 1433 T Street NW. which is a large apartment building on the north side of the street. According to MPD Assistant Chief of Police Diane Groomes, “2 males shot in rear of 1433 T St… one drove themself to hospital… the one taken off scene by ambulance has died… no motive yet… still interviewing witnesses.”
