Brazen Burglary and Subsequent Arrest

I received the following message from a Borderstan neighbor this morning:

The basement unit at 1516 R Street was entered on Tuesday, September 9th, around 2:00 PM, by kicking in a front window.  A flat screen TV and personal computer were taken.  Someone was observed entering one of the apartment buildings on the south side of the 1400 block of R Street carrying the stolen PC.

I forwarded the message on to our Borderstan contacts in the 2nd and 3rd Police districts asking for follow up and just received the following from Lt. Erich Miller:

Breaking News,Ofc. John Hansohn just made an arrest of a suspect in possession of a stolen laptop computer taken during a burglary today in the 1700 block of R Street.  This subject matches the description of another recent burglary in the Borderstan area.  We are proceeding carefully with this case because there are indications that he might be responsible for numerous burglaries in the community.  Detective Bovino will be contacting previous burglary victims to examine photo spreads.  The suspect in custody has a lengthy history of burglary.  I will provide further information tomorrow after we present the case to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.  I think this case will have a significant impact in the Borderstan community.  It was also fantastic police work by Ofc. Hansohn.

Congratulations to our Borderstan officers – particularly Officer Hansohn. We in Borderstan appreciate your efforts.   Keep up the good work!
