Downtown Holiday Market Runs Through Dec. 23
The D.C. Downtown Holiday Market opened today for the fourth year and runs through December 23. The market is on F Street NW between 7th and 9th (Gallery Place Metro stop on Red Line) between noon and 8 p.m. daily. From the market Web site:
The 4th Annual Downtown Holiday Market returns for 19 delightful days, December 5 through 23, 2008, on the F Street sidewalk in front of the Smithsonian American Art Museum & National Portrait Gallery between 7th & 9th Streets, NW. Bringing a unique and festive shopping “village” to the heart of Downtown DC, the Noon to 8pm market features more than 150 local artisans and crafters.
Hundreds of diverse gift items, such as jewelry, pottery, paintings, and textiles will be offered by 50 exhibitors each day. Check back as the exhibitors rotate and the selection of goods will vary daily. You’re sure to find something special for everyone on your list.
And while you’re shopping, enjoy lively seasonal entertainment, plus great snacks and festive treats.
