Engaged to be married? Thinking about getting married? Check out a pre-marriage counseling program at the D.C. Jewish Community Center located right here in Borderstan at 16th and Q Streets NW. It’s called “Tying the Knot: A Pre-Marriage Workshop for Couples” and it begins in Feburary.

Flowers? Hall? Spiritual Prep?

Tough economic times may push couples to focus more on the less materialistic elements of the wedding. In February the Washington DC Jewish Community Center (DCJCC) will offer a way to do just that: “Tying the Knot: A Pre-Marriage Workshop for Couples.”If you are planning to marry or are considering engagement, it is important to explore your relationship and begin to develop skills to handle the challenges that arise when two people share their lives.

Examine and discuss a variety of issues, including marital roles and expectations; religion and spirituality; personality differences, communication styles, managing conflict, decision-making skills, intimacy, money and finances; and household, social and leisure activities. Jewish values and traditions provide a strong context for a safe and supportive discussion on this deeply rewarding and challenging journey of marriage.

Facilitator: Dr. Rachel Barbanel-Fried

Cost is $75 per couple. Get more details about “Tying the Knot” online.
