Everything You Need to Know About the Inauguration
Well, maybe not everything, but I have tried to put links link to the best info sites about Inauguration 2009 activities and information.
One more week, Borderstanians, and life will get back to normal in Washington. Barack Obama and Joe Biden will be sworn in next Tuesday as president and vice president.
There’s a LOT of Inauguration information out there, so here is a One-Stop Shopping experience for Inauguration 2009 information–the D.C. Government’s special Inauguration 2009 Web site, “Presidential 09 Inauguration,” is quite good. I have also added links to some other sites. The major info sections on the DC site are:
- News
- Events
- Getting There
- Maps
- Inaugural Boundaries (great PDF map showing the area where events will be held downtown and on the National Mall)
- Road Closures (PDF)
- Spectator Information (with list of prohibited items, which are extensive)
- Closures (streets, bridges, vehicle restrictions)
- Frequently Asked Questions
- City Services (schedules)
- Volunteer
Also, I suggest you sign up for DC Text Alerts. You can have major annoucements sent to your cell phone or email address. You can also sign up for Crime Alerts at this site.
