Police Ask Public’s Help to Find Armed Robber

(Washington, DC) – The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery which occurred on Columbia Road, NW.

At approximately 9:05 a.m., on Saturday, January 31, 2009, a lone male reportedly entered C.W. Financial located in the 1700 block of Columbia Road, NW. Once inside the suspect displayed a silver colored handgun and robbed the business of an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing the scene.


The suspect in this case is described as a dark complexioned black male, 35-40 years of age, weighing approximately 250 pounds and standing approximately 5’2″ to 5’3″  tall. He was reportedly last seen wearing a black cap with yellow unknown wording on the front and back, a pink button down shirt with a multi-colored tie and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099 or 1-888-919-CRIM [E] (2746). The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any armed robbery or a robbery that results in serious bodily injury.

Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to DC Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS and to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. If the information provided by the caller to Crime Solvers leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
