17th St. Dog Park Dedication on Tuesday

Plan for the enclosed dog park at 17th, S and New Hampshire NW. (Image: DC Department of Parks and Recreation Web site.)
Sunday Update: I’ve been told that work will begin this week on the dog park and will take six to seven weeks to complete–in time for a spring opening.
This has to be the groundbreaking ceremony for the new, enclosed dog parks on 17th Street at S and T Streets NW. This is an approved project, but there certainly isn’t anything there as of today.
From Dupont Circle listserv on Yahoo! Groups:
- What: Dedication of our new dog park at 17th, S and T Streets.
- When: Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at 3:45 p.m.
- Who: Mayor Adrian Fenty, Department of Parks and Recreation Director Clark Ray, Scoop and others.
Special shout out to ANC Commissioner Bob Meehan and Iris Molotsky, who worked so hard to make this happen! See you there!
For more information on the 17th Street dog parks, visit the DC DPR Web site. The Shaw Dog Park is already up and running at 11th and R Streets NW.
