PSA 208 Message on Rooftop Burglaries

The following message is from Police Service Area (PSA) 208:

During the last 45 days PSA 208 has experienced 17 burglaries. Of these burglaries, ONLY THREE (3) have involved the suspect gaining access to a residence through the rooftop and have occurred in the 1700 block of three streets. They are:

1. Burglary (B2) took place at the 1700 block of T Street NW sometime between 01/01/2009 (Thursday) and 01/08/2009 (Thursday).
2. Burglary (B2) took place at the 1700 block of P Street NW sometime between 01/13/2009 (Tuesday) and 01/14/2009 (Wednesday).
3. Burglary (B2) took place at the 1700 block of S Street NW on 02/11/2009 (Wednesday).

The remaining Burglaries, as seen below, occurred at the following locations and in the listed manners:

• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1300 (originally was listed as 1000) block of New Hampshire Ave NW. Reported on 01/05/2009 (Monday) MISCLASSIFIED is actually a THEFT.
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1700 block of S St. NW, UNLOCKED SIDE WINDOW. Reported on 01/05/2009 (Monday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1700 block of T St NW, ROOF TOP (LISTED ABOVE). Reported on 01/08/2009 (Thursday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1900 block of M St NW, OFFICE BUILDING. Reported on 01/09/2009 (Friday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1100 block of 19th St NW, OFFICE BUILDING Reported on 01/12/2009 (Monday).
• Burglary (Attempt) took place at the 1700 block of Swann St NW, ROOF TOP (LISTED ABOVE). Reported on 01/15/2009 (Thursday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1200 block of 19th St NW, UNATTACHED GARAGE. Reported on 01/19/2009 (Monday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1700 block of P St NW, ROOF TOP (LISTED ABOVE). Reported on 01/21/2009 (Wednesday).
• Burglary (Attempt) took place at the 2200 block of R St NW, REAR DOOR (witness on scene). Reported on 01/24/2009 (Saturday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1900 block of I St NW, OFFICE BUILDING. Reported on 01/26/2009 (Monday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1900 block of 18th St NW, OFFICE BUILDING. Reported on 01/30/2009 (Friday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 2000 block of P St NW, UNLOCKED DOOR INSIDE OF A LOCKED APARTMENT BUILDING. Reported on 02/06/2009 (Friday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 2000 block of L St NW, OFFICE BUILDING. Reported on 02/09/2009 (Monday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1900 block of K St NW, CONSTRUCTION SITE. Reported on 02/10/2009 (Tuesday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1700 block of S St. NW, ROOF TOP (LISTED ABOVE). Reported on 02/11/2009 (Wednesday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1700 block of Q St. NW, UNKNOWN ENTRY METHOD. Reported on 02/13/2009 (Friday).
• Burglary (B2) took place at the 1700 block of U St NW, UNLOCKED WINDOW. Reported on 02/16/2009 (Monday).
