I have walked by there several times the past couple of days and didn’t even notice… Sushi Taro has reopened at the same location on 17th Street NW just above P Street. It had closed for a total renovation. I ate there twice a few years ago. It ain’t cheap, but it is excellent. Found this at Chowhound.

  1. I ate there for lunch yesterday… disappointing is the best way to describe it. The prices are up a good 50% and pretension is pretty thick. It used to be one of my favorite places in the city… definitely a shame.

  2. dinner for 3 now cost over $300! Granted it was the best sushi and authentic japanese I’ve had since my visit to Japan, however, is this really $300 of rare exotic foods that they are serving? NO, cliche authentic Japanese street food for extreme prices. Boycott Taro.
