From Logan Circle News on Yahoo! Groups:

Tez Menisher, the new owner of Café Collage, 1346 T Street NW, would like to invite her neighbors to a free Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony on Sunday May 31 at 1:00 pm. This will be a nice opportunity for neighbors to meet and greet and taste some delicious, organic, fair-trade Ethiopian coffee.

Two more sidewalk robberies involving “force and violence” in the northern part of the Logan Circle neighborhood (Police Service Area 307), both on Memorial Day but at different times. However, the two robberies occurred about two blocks apart.

The first robbery was in the early morning hours, at 2:30 a.m., at 11th and Vermont NW. But, the other crime was in broad daylight at 8:53 a.m. on the 1700-block of 13th Street NW (near R Street). This second robbery is more disconcerting–this area is well-traveled are in the daytime, full of dog walkers, joggers and passing cars.

The T Street murder story gets worse. Now it is being linked to this: “Double Murder Called ‘Targeted Assassination.’ “

The murder of Carl Ashton O’Neil Gray Fitzgerald at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday on the 1300-block of U Street NW may be linked to a double “assassination” style murder in Fort Washington, Maryland, about a half hour later. (Read MPD news release on the murder.) This possibility is explained in a story from Channel 9-WUSA:

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (WUSA) — The murder of a couple in their home early Tuesday may be linked to a fatal shooting about a half-hour before at a nightclub in DC, according to Prince George’s County police. Keith Jordan, 44, and his fiance, 48-year-old Audrey Bryant, were shot during a confrontation inside Bryant’s home in the 4000 block of Oaklawn Road in Fort Washington, just after 1 a.m. Tuesday.

According to another story in the Washington Examiner, police have “substantial leads” in both murders.

Thanks to Sri for his comment on the original posting that led me to the Channel 9-WUSA story.

The weather is really disgusting this morning. Bluh. Thus, I post a photo of a cute dog taken this past weekend: Lupe of Borderstan (yes, she’s our dog) at the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Ride on Saturday on Constitution Avenue / The National Mall. Luis has a slide show of his photos from Rolling Thunder over at One Photograph A Day.
