From MPD Third District… it’s parade time for The United House of Prayer For All People. This is a wonderful, beautiful parade that is held Memorial Day weekend; this year it is Saturday, May 23.
Last year we watched the parade right on Logan Circle in front of a friend’s house. In fact, the founder of TUHOP, Bishop Charles “Daddy” Grace had a house right on Logan Circle.
On Saturday, May 23, 2009, the United House of Prayer, located at 601 M Street NW, will be hosting its annual parade. The parade is expected to begin at 11 a.m. Assembly for the parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the 1100 block of 6th Street NW. Ending time is expected to be 3 p.m. in 600-block of M Street NW.
The parade will travel north on 6th Street from M Street to Florida Avenue… then west on U Street to 13th Street… south on 13th Street to Logan Circle… east on P Street to 7th Street… and south on 7th Street to M Street.
The United House of Prayer has an interesting history and you really should read up on it if you plan to attend the parade:
