90% of Borderstan Readers Support Same-Sex Marriage
The results of another extremely unscientific, unrepresentative and unreliable Borderstan opinion poll have been tallied. This past week’s online poll was “Should DC Have Same-Sex Marriage?” According to Borderstan.com readers, the answer is an overwhelming “yes,” to tune of 90% in favor of same-sex marriage. By the way, the 185 respondents is the largest number of readers to ever participate in a Borderstan.com opinion poll.
Note: The law that was recently enacted in the District of Columbia recognizes same-sex marriages from other states and countries. At present, DC has a domestic partnership law, but not a civil union law for same-sex couples.
The results:
- 90% – Yes, marriage for same-sex couples (166 votes)
- 7% – In favor of civil unions, but not marriage for same-sex couples (13 votes)
- 3% – No marriages, no civil unions for same-sex couples (6 votes)
- 0% – Undecided: 0 votes (0 votes)
