Area Crime Report Includes Gun Robbery on Church Street

Here are recent crimes of note in Police Service Areas (PSAs) 208 and 307 from the past week. Crimes of note are stolen autos, burglaries and violent crimes such as robbries and assaults. West Borderstan (west of 15th NW) is part of PSA 208 while East Borderstan (east of 15th NW) is part of PSA 307. In general, PSA 208 covers the Dupont Circle neighborhood while PSA 307 covers Logan Circle and a bit of Shaw.

Two crimes are particularly notable for Borderstan: (1) the gun robbery early Saturday morning on the 1700-block of Church Street NW, and (2) the Tuedsay, June 19, robbery with force and violence on the 1400-block of R Street NW at 7 p.m.

PSA 208

• July 4, 3:08 a.m. Robbery with a Gun, 1700 of block Church Street, NW. L/O for B/M 20’s, 6’0″ with slim build, armed with a handgun.
• June 30, 9 a.m. Burglary, 1700 block of S Street NW – Home.
• June 30. Burglary in the 1700 block of P Street NW. C-1 confronted S-1 about entering her house through the roof. C-1 failed to take anything of value. No lookout was available. (PSA 208)  Today, at approximately 4:08 PM, a homeowner in the 1700 block of P Street, NW, observed a subject descending from her unlocked skylight into her home. The unidentified subject, upon noticing the homeowner’s presence, attempted to use the ruse that he was at the ” wrong home.” He then managed to escape through the skylight and fled in an unknown direction. The homeowner was unable to provide a description of the suspect.
• June 30. Burglary in the 1700 block of S Street, NW. Unknown suspect (s) cut the screen and pried the window lock and stole assorted jewelry. No lookout was available.
• June 29, 10:50 p.m. Burglary, 1500 block of 16th Street NW – Home.
• June 29, noon. Stolen Auto, 1700 block of M Street NW – Parking Lot/Parking Garage.
• June 26, 1 p.m. Burglary, 1700 block of 16th Street NW – Home.

• June 30, 8:30 a.m. Burglary, Logan Circle NW – Home.
• June 29, 7 p.m. Robbery with Force and Violence, 1400 block of R Street NW – Sidewalk.
• June 28, Burglary, 1400 block of Church Street NW – Building.
• June 26, 9 p.m. Robbery with Force and Violence, 1100 block of M Street NW – Sidewalk.
• June 26, 10:30 p.m., Robbery with Knife, 1700 block of 13th Street NW – Sidewalk.
