Tuesday: National Night Out Event in Dupont Circle

National Night Out 2009 is this Tuesday, August 4, and the main Borderstan-area event will be in Dupont Circle, 6 to 8 p.m. According to ANC 2B, there will be free hamburgers, hotdogs and softdrinks, courtesy of Circa. This is a great opportunity to meet the police officers who serve and patrol our neighborhood.
What is NNO? According to the organization’s Web site, it is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
