Crimes of Note Oct. 23-Nov. 2; Info Needed on 16th & U Assault

Here are recent crimes of note in Police Service Areas (PSAs) 208, 307 and 305 for the October 23 to November 2 period in the Dupont Circle, U Street and Logan Circle areas. Crimes of note are stolen autos, burglaries and violent crimes such as robberies and assaults.

Police need more more information this Sunday assault, which occurred at/near the bus stop on 16th Street just south of U Street NW:

  • November 1, 1:52 p.m., Assault with Deadly Weapon-Gun, 1900-block of 16th Street NW. According to MPD, “The incident started off with an argument in the McDonald’s [14th and U Streets NW] … one of the parties then exited and went to wait for a bus in the 1900 block of 16th Street when a blue Yukon pulled along side and pulled gun demanding his property… the victim attempted to grab the gun and a fight ensued when the driver of the truck came out and struck the victim with a bat causing him injury… the truck sped off (we are following this lead) and victim taken to an area hospital… we ask anyone who may have witnessed this attack to contact the 2d detectives or our tip line at 1 888 919 CRIME.”

  • October 23, 7:40 p.m., Robbery-Gun, 1200-block of Florida Avenue NW.
  • October 25, 5:55 a.m., Robbery-Gun, 1300-block of 9th Street NW-Alley.
  • October 26, 8:50 p.m., Robbery-Force & Violence, 1300-block of U Street NW-Restaurant.
  • October 29, 1:18 p.m., Robbery-Force & Violence, 2100 14th Street NW.
  • October 31, 3:40 a.m., Robbery- Force & Violence, 19th Street and Florida Avenue NW.
  • November 2, 6:12 a.m., Robbery with Gun, 900-block of T Street NW.

Assault

  • October 27, 3:50 p.m., Assault with Deadly Weapon-Gun, 1300-block of 14th Street NW (between N Street and Rhode Island Avenue NW). “… there were gunshots fired at an individual but nobody was hit. The complainant left the scene and has not yet been identified. Detectives are following up to obtain additional information.”
  • October 30, 5:10 p.m., Assault with Deadly Weapon, 11th and U Streets NW.
  • November 1, 1:52 p.m., Assault with Deadly Weapon-Gun, 1900-block of 16th Street NW. Burglary

  • October 26, 11:45 a.m., Burglary-Residence, 1700-block of 20th Street NW.
  • October 26, 5:30 p.m., Burglary-Residence, 1400-block of T Street NW.
  • October 27, 3:55 p.m., Burglary-Residence, 1800-block of S Street NW.
  • October 30, 7:30 to 11:50 p.m., Burglary-Residence, 1800-block of Swann Street NW: “Residential Burglary in the 1800 block of Swann Street, N.W., between 7:30 pm and 11:50 pm – Unknown subject(s) cut the screen of the front window, which was unlocked. The following property was stolen: Apple Mac Pro, Northface coat, stereo CD play and U.S. currency.”

Stolen Auto

  • October 27, 6:30 a.m., Stolen Auto, 1300-block of Florida Avenue NW.
  • November 1/2, 11 p.m. to 9 a.m., Stolen Auto, 14th Street and Wallach Place NW.
