MONDAY: Wreath Laying Ceremony at Civil War Memorial

Here is a event tomorrow for Martin Luther King Day in the neighborhood. There will be a wreath laying ceremony at 12:30 p.m. at the African American Civil War Memorial at 1200 U Street NW (intersection of U-Vermont-12th).
There is a processional march at noon from 10th Street Baptist Church at 11th and R NW to the ceremony. The procession will go northbound up 11th Street to Vermont Avenue to the Civil War Memorial. The event ends with the wreath laying.
The ceremony is followed by a discussion on “The Obama Presidency and the Goals of the Civil Rights Movement” and a reception, at the Masonic Temple, 1000 U Street NW.
