Crimes of Note: Auto Thefts Stand Out

For the first half of January, the number of robberies in the Borderstan area is about par while the number of stolen autos (nine) seems quite high. Two things stand out on the robberies: three on January 7 on 16th/17th/S Streets, all in the same general area; and two more robberies on T Street, one on 9th and one on 13th Street.

Following are crimes of note in the Borderstan area for the January 5-18 period in DupontU Street and Logan. Crimes of note are property crimes such as stolen autos and burglaries, and violent crimes such as robberies and assaults.

Robbery

  • January 5, Robbery with Gun, 1800 block of 13th Street NW.
  • January 7, Robbery with Force and Violence, 1800 block of 16th Street NW.
  • January 7, Robbery: Assault with Intent, 17th and P Streets NW.
  • January 7, 12:15 a.m., 1600 block of S Street NW, 2 males.
  • January 8, 3:04 a.m., Robbery-Snatch, 1400 V Street NW.
  • January 9, Robbery with Force and Violence, 1800 block of 13th Street NW.
  • January 9, 8:25 p.m., Robbery-Snatch, 13th and T Streets NW, 3 males.
  • January 18, Robbery, 9th and T Streets NW, 1 male.

Stolen Auto

  • January 4, 7:30 p.m., 1700 block of Riggs Street NW.
  • January 4, 7:30 p.m., 1700 block of Church Street NW.
  • January 8, 1100 block of Vermont Avenue NW.
  • January 8, 1700 block of S Street NW.
  • January 9, 1700 block of 17th Street NW.
  • January 12, 1800 block of 12th Street NW.
  • January 13, 15th and U Streets NW.
  • January 14, 1500 block of Q Street NW.
  • January 18, 1400 block of R Street NW.

Assault

  • January 6, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, 1700 block of Johnson Avenue NW-Home.
  • January 7, Assault with a deadly weapon-Knife, 1900 block of 14th Street NW.
