Crimes of Note Include Prostitution Sting Op at Local Hotel

The major crime of note this week was a prostitution sting operation last weekend at the Holiday Inn at 15th and Rhode Island NW that resulted in the arrest of 10 people for prostitution. According to senior MPD officials, “the operation was conducted by major narcotics and prostitution unit, and was conducted as an undercover operation with a female officer in the hotel.” It was carried out over the weekend of February 26-27.

Following are additional crimes of note–robberies, assaults, burglaries and stolen autos–that occurred February 18-22 in the DupontLoganU Street area. The area is covered primarily by Police Service Areas (PSAs) 208 and 307 with a small slice of the Borderstan area in PSA 305.

  • Thursday, February 25, 4:05 p.m., Robbery, 1600 block of Connecticut Avenue NW.
  • Friday, February 26, 10:35 a.m., Robbery in restaurant, 1100 block of Florida Avenue NW.
  • Saturday, February 27, 3:20 p.m., Robbery, 13th and Corcoran Streets NW.
  • Saturday, February 27, 3:19 p.m., Robbery with Gun, 1300 block of 11th Street NW.
  • Monday, March 1, 2:55 a.m., Robbery, 12th and U Streets NW.
