A Touch of Brick: 17th Streetscape Sidewalks

by Borderstan.com — March 19, 2010 at 7:32 am 3 Comments

17th Streetscape Dupont Circle Borderstan

West side of 1600 block of 17th Street NW: Looking south, just past Annie’s Paramount Steakhouse. (Borderstan)

The new sidewalks on the 17th Street corridor are getting a touch of brick–instead of being fully bricked. The areas next to the curb are brick and there is a brick accent toward the center of the sidewalk. Work is underway to complete the sidewalks on the west side before warm weather, and outdoor dining, arrives. Get updates on the 17th Streetscape project at the project Web site.

Yes, gotta luv the new sidewalks. Great design.

  2. I heard that two dogs were shocked by electric wiring not buried yet due to incompletion of the project on the east side of 17th & Church Sts. Have you heard anything about this? If a child or dog gets seriously hurt someone will pay’

  3. I think it looks bleak. A hint of brick? Looks more like K Street than the “Old City” neighborhood.
