This Weekend in Borderstan: A Shortage of N’s
Thanks go to Borderstan reader Jacob Freedman for sending the accompanying photo. Indeed, as Freedman asks, “Did we run out of n’s?” But, seriously, folks, remind your out-of-the-hood visitors about the need to feed the parking meters on the U Street corridor in the evenings–you never know when parking enforcememt may show up. And, please, send us photos of interesting or unusual things you spot in the area.

Cork & Fork makes its grand opening today from 1 to 5 pm, at 14th and Church NW. Read Alejandra’s preview from Monday night.
The 14th & U Farmers’ Market is open for the summer; last weekend was the opening Saturday. Hours are 9 am to 1 pm–Saturdays only. The market is also on Facebook.
This Saturday, May 8, EU Embassies throughout the city open their doors to the public as part of the Shortcut to Europe from 10:00am – 4 pm. (From Free in DC)

New exhibit opens at the Hamiltonian Gallery, 1353 U Street NW, with a reception from 7 to 9 pm. Works by Leah Frankel, Magnolia Laurie and Lina Vargas de la Hoz. Look for a profile of the gallery and the artists in this exhibit next week from Cecile Oreste.

Mikveh officially opens at the Goldman Theater at the DC Jewish Community Center, 16th and Q NW. There are also two preview performances: Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 3:30 pm.
