Thursday Night: Shop Late on 14th and U Streets

Tonight is the monthly Mid-City Third Thursday where you call stroll along 14th St and the U Street Corridor for some evening shopping and promotions. Most shops stay open til 8 pm, some stay open a bit later.

Stop by Mid City Caffe, just above Miss Pixies, for a Free Coffee Cupping at 6:30 pm and share your opinion about which of the coffees you’d like to see them feature next month.

After checking out the shops, you can also stop in for some Live Jazz at 1905 near U Street starting at 9 pm every Thursday.

Digital Capital Week Continues

Digital Capital Week also continues with daytime panels and events at 9th and Massachusetts NW, SMCDC breakfast at Busboys and Poets on Friday at 9 am, $5 and various other paid and free events at locations throughout DC, now through Saturday. One of the free panels that sounded interesting is the Fashion and Technology Panel on Saturday from 2 to 3 pm.

Wine and Chocolate

During the day on Saturday you can also head over to Biagio Fine Chocolate on 18th Street for their June Sample Day with their new neighbor, A.M. Wine Shoppe, for a Complimentary Wine and Chocolate Tasting from 3 to 6 pm.

Sulu DC Show and Gallery Openings

Saturday evening, Sulu DC hosts their June Show this Saturday starting at 7 pm at Almaz at 12th and U Streets, note there is a $10 cover, $8 for students.

You can also swing by to check out the Art Opening at Irvine Contemporary on 14th Street for the new show featuring works by Alexa Meade and Robert Mellor from 6 to 9 pm and also stop by Hamiltonian Gallery on U Street for the Opening Reception from 7 to 9 pm. This is the last art show they will be hosting that will feature works from their first group of ten Hamiltonian Fellows that have been in residence.
