U Street-Florida Avenue NW between 16th and 18th Street was closed during Tuesday evening rush hour due to a water main break. The break, where Florida Avenue merges into U Street, shut off traffic from about 3:45 to 5:45 pm. DDOT has photo of the actual break site.

Last Friday a 20-inch water main broke on the 1800 block of 14th Street NW.

DC Water is the entity responsible for DC’s water and sewer system.

  1. Oh, they’re branding themselves DC Water now? Locals have always known them as WASA (DC Water And Sewer Authority).
