“50 x 11″ Opens Friday at Joan Hisaoka Gallery
The Joan Hisaoka Gallery on U Street has a 6 pm opening reception on Friday for “50 x 11 (51 Artists in FY 2011).” It is part of the DC Commission on the Arts 2011 Artist Fellowship Program, and the Visual Arts Exhibition is hosted by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. The gallery says that “the exhibition presents some of the District’s finest visual artists with the opportunity to display their work in hopes of being awarded the highly competitive Artist Fellowship grant for FY 2011 in the amount of $5,000 from the Commission.”
One exhibition closes this weekend. Saturday is the last day at Transformer on P Street NW for the second installment of “E7: Tetrad.”
