The Greater Dupont Mini-Walk is for Charlie’s Place, a facility for the homeless.

What: Greater Dupont Mini-Walk for Charlie’s Place, a facility for the homeless located at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 1830 Connecticut Avenue NW.

When: Sunday, September 26 at 1 pm.

Where: Dupont Circle. Register at the Dupont Farmers Market from 9 am to 1 pm… or on the west side of Dupont Circle from 11 am to 1 pm.

Who: You! Registration fee is $25… $15 if you are under age 25… or you can be paired with a sponsor. This event is part of Fannie Mae’s efforts to help the homeless.

Why: This event is designed for those who are unable to do the 5K Fannie Mae Walkathon on November 20. Walkers will go around Dupont Circle, starting from the west side of the Circle then up Connecticut Avenue to Charlie’s Place (St. Margaret’s Church), where there will be refreshments and a presentation about the current work of Charlie’s Place. The facility now includes case management and efforts to secure jobs and housing, in addition to nutritious meals and links to social, legal, and health services for the homeless.
