Marketade, a Logan Circle-based Internet marketing company, recently announced the launch of its year-long ‘SEO Makeover’ contest for DC small businesses. One local organization will receive $3,750 worth of search engine optimization (SEO) services every quarter for the next year.
Congrats go to PhotoTour Excursions, the first of the four winners of the ‘SEO Makeover’ contest. The company is Marketade’s fourth quarter 2010 winner. PhotoTour Excursions provides its customers with combined DC tours and photography instruction.
The deadline to apply for the First Quarter 2011 SEO Makeover contest is December 15.
“You rarely see a David beat a Goliath with traditional advertising… you see it often with SEO,” said Marketade managing partner John Nicholson. “But a lot of small businesses lack the expertise and resources needed to do SEO effectively.”
An SEO Makeover winner receives $3,750 in consulting services over a six-month period. Services include keyword research, content and code optimization, link building, local SEO, Google Analytics & reporting, and conversion optimization.
Nicholson said that businesses and non-profits in the DC metro area with 10 or fewer employees, a small budget and a functioning website are eligible. The only other requirement is that the winning company lets Marketade share its story. The makeovers are meant to inspire and teach other small businesses, in addition to the winners.
Eligible organizations and companies can apply using the form on Marketade’s giveaway site. The deadline to apply for the First Quarter 2011 SEO Makeover contest is December 15. Marketade is a metrics-focused web design and marketing company based in DC’s Logan Circle neighborhood. Marketade helps small- and mid-sized businesses with search engine marketing, social media, website usability, application development, and reporting and analysis.
