Megabus Adding 10 New Cities Starting Wednesday
Megabus is going international. Dr. Gridlock over at The Washington Post reports that the bus company, known for its double-decker buses, is adding 10 new routes starting December 15, including Toronto, Boston and Pittsburgh.
Neil MacLean’s Special Borderstan Logos
Did you notice the special holiday logo on the top of the Borderstan landing page? Our friend and designer Neil MacLean did it for us. He’s the same guy who designed the original Borderstan logo. Neil and his wife recently departed the U Street area for Brooklyn — but he still works with DC clients. Look for more of his special event/holiday logos on our landing page. Thanks, Neil!
Shaw Dogs Meet Wednesday; No Clean Up this Month
The next meeting of Shaw Dogs is Wednesday, December 15 at 7 pm. Location is different this month: the new Shaw Library at 1630 7th Street NW (at Rhode Island Avenue) in Conference Room 2. Meetings (usually at Hotel Helix on Rhode Island Avenue) are open to the public. Shaw Dogs is the volunteer group that takes care of the Shaw Dog Park at 1673 11th Street NW. There is no organized cleanup scheduled for this month, but impromptu clean up of trash and litter while at the park is encouraged.
The Latest on the Switch Over at Brickskeller
The Young and Hungry over at Washington City Paper has the latest on the replacement for the Brickskeller on 22nd Street NW: Brickskeller’s Replacement Announces 50 Beer Taps, Searches for a Name. The new to-be-named place for beer connoisseurs is scheduled to change hands December 22 and reopen December 26.
