SYMHM: MOVA Lounge to Reopen in U Street Corridor
From Michelle Lancaster
Snow
Apparently, DC is now the Bermuda Triangle of snow coverage.
What’s Next for MOVA Lounge?
Gone, but not really even gone and certainly not forgotten is MOVA Lounge. Borderstan has confirmed with owner Babak Movahedi that MOVA Lounge will definitely reopen in a new location in “late spring.” Movahedi also confirmed that the new location will be in the “U Street corridor,” but would say no more. MetroWeekly reported in the fall that MOVA was in Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization last fall; Movahedi told Borderstan that the company came out of bankruptcy on December 17.

Two Local Residents Pick Up Petitions for City Council
According to DC Board of Elections and Ethics records, Stanley J. Mayes and Wayne Dickson, residents of the Borderstan area, picked up petitions recently for the special election on April 26 for the DC Council At-Large seat.
Dickson is a realtor and the spouse of Carol Felix of the DC Arts District Branding project. Picking up petitions is only a preliminary first step towards running for the At-Large seat. Just because someone picks up petitions does not mean they will return them and ultimately file to run. We will keep you posted as the election nears.
Rock It Again: Soft Opening This Weekend?
U Street Girl lets vintage fans know that Rock It Again may be headed for the old Nana’s space on U Street as soon as this weekend.
What the H*LL is Going on Around Here?
TBD’s timeline for today is frankly terrifying. 1:22: a car explodes in Arlington. 4:05: elderly couple found dead in Frederick. 4:12: Georgetown student falls from window. Add in the car crash and fire on Capitol Hill yesterday and you have the makings of a run of tough luck in the District. Hug your loved ones, folks.
