Tucked away out of street view at 1515 14th Street NW are three galleries: Adamson, Curator’s Office and Hemphill Fine Arts. Since they are not visible from the street, many locals may not know they exist.

But last weekend, all three held gallery opening receptions. We made it to Hemphill and Adamson, but Curator’s Office is a very small space and was packed wall-to-wall, so we passed it up (see Hemphill’s “Viewing Rm.”, highlighting must-see pieces).

At Adamson Gallery, a new exhibition of pieces by artists Chuck Close, Robert Longo and Iona Rozeal Brown were unveiled. The exhibition will be open through February 20.
