Police Seek Leads in Armed Robbery of 17th Street Safeway
The Safeway grocery store was robbed by two armed men on the afternoon of Friday, January 28, and police are looking for leads. Photos of the two suspects are in the flyer from DC police. There is a reward of up to $10,000.
According to MPD:
On Friday, January 28, 2011, at approximately 1:50 pm, an employee, was robbed at gunpoint and pistol whipped in the manager’s office of the Safeway Supermarket, located at 1701 Corcoran Street, NW. The first suspect is described as a black male, 35-40 years of age, 5’10” in height, with a heavy build, facial hair and dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark knit cap, dark jacket, dark pants, and was armed with a dark colored handgun. The second suspect is described as a black male, 35-40 years of age, 5’10” in height, with a heavy build, and dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark knit cap and dark clothing.
