Details are hard to come by from the D.C. police, but a task force involving MPD and federal agencies paid a visit to Townhouse Tavern Thursday afternoon, February 10. The longtime establishment is at 1637 R Street NW, just off the 17th Street corridor.

MPD’s Lt. Scott Dignan told Borderstan, “A warrant was executed, which resulted in one arrest and a weapon recovery.”

Dignan also confirmed that today’s action involved MPD and federal agencies. It was also reported by neighborhood sources that someone was taken from Townhouse in handcuffs.

Dignan is head of Police Service Area 208, which covers the Dupont Circle area.
