Several hundred people turned out at noon Saturday in Dupont Circle for a rally in support of  Wisconsin state public workers. It was part of the solidarity rallies held across the country yesterday, Rally to Save the American Dream. The rallies were sponsored by labor groups and allied organizations.

The standoff in Wisconsin continues between Governor Scott Walker and the Republican-controlled legislature and public employee unions. Walker is attempting to end collective bargaining rights for public employees.

  1. Nice! Support Wisconsin workers. It will be YOUR workplace rights that these people come for next, whether you work in the public or private sector. Remember, people, it was unions that got you the weekend and health insurance and paid vacations. Don’t fall for the crap from the Koch Brothers — these people are ultra-ultra-ultra right wing. They do not have your best interests at heart. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koch_brothers
