Home & Design Weekend Features 21 Retailers

This weekend will be the first annual Spring Home & Design Weekend sponsored by Washington Fine Properties. The free event will showcase 21 home furnishings and accessory retailers in the Logan Circle and U Street neighborhoods.

The event will take place Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20, from noon to 6 pm. A map and list of participating merchants is at the Home & Design Weekend website.

In addition to getting design tips and previewing new collections, shoppers will be able to view artwork on display from many local artists.

Kimberly Casey and her business partner, Daryl Judy, both associate brokers with Washington Fine Properties, were among those who helped organize the event. Casey said that the neighborhood is very important to them, and Washington Fine Properties is sponsoring the event to give the neighborhood region-wide exposure, and highlight the home design sources that are in the area.

Merchant events along the 14th and U corridor have become regular fixtures for us Borderstan residents. The annual Dog Days Weekend every August has grown in popularity over the past decade. Holly Days each December gives area residents a chance to finish up holiday shopping locally, while taking in special events throughout the weekend. Both are sponsored by the MidCity Business Association.
