Today’s photo, “Beast Statue,” was taken by dita6500 on February 6. It shows one of the four buffalo statues on the Dumbarton Bridge, which is also known as the Q Street Bridge. The bridge spans Rock Creek Park and links the Dupont Circle and Georgetown neighborhoods.
According to Wikipedia, the unusual curved bridge “is a historic masonry arch bridge” and was constructed 1914-1915. Dumbarton Bridge is known for the buffalo statutes by Alexander Phimister Proctor.
