Borderstan, 14th Street NW, homeless

“New Location” was taken by awkward.media.

From Luis Gomez. You can follow Luis on Twitter @LuisGomezPhotos and at One Photograph A Day.

Photos of the Day are pulled from the Borderstan Reader Photos pool on Flickr.

akward.media took today’s photo, “New Location.” Where’s the location? Northwest corner of 14th and Q Streets NW. The man in the photo? He might be familiar to you – name is Michael, a recent transplant to this corner in the city’s efforts to “clean up” his previous “home” at 14th and Corcoran Streets NW. The building is the site of the former dry cleaner and has been the topic of much speculative debate: What will be the dry cleaner’s replacement?

What do you think will or should replace the dry cleaner?

Do you want to see your photographs on this page? If you have a Flickr account, you’re near finished the process. Join Borderstan Reader Photos and submit away! (five photos per day in the Borderstan reader pool); if you don’t have a Flickr account, sign up for one and follow the steps above.  Remember, you can submit up to five photos per day in the Borderstan reader pool. We are looking for photos from D.C.’s Dupont, Logan and U Street neighborhoods.

  1. Thanks, Luis. Didn’t realize I caught Michael in this one (thought he looked different). Thanks for using my photo, though.
