Twelve days of Capital Pride wrap up on Sunday with the annual Festival in the shadow of the U.S. Capitol. The event draws large crowds from the entire Mid-Atlantic region and runs from 4th to 7th Streets on Pennsylvania Avenue NW.

This year’s headliner to close the Festival around 6 pm is singer Jennifer Holliday with DJ Tony Moran. Holliday is a Tony Award winning actress who became well known for her role in Dream Girls on Broadway.

The day-long event includes continuous live entertainment on the main stage, food, a family area, arts stage and beverage garden and great people watching. The hundreds of vendors will include local businesses and community organizations.

Take the Metro

The Festival entrance is at 7th and Pennsylvania NW and attendees are encouraged to take Metro (parking in the area will be difficult to find). The closest Metro stops are Archives/Navy Memorial (Green/Yellow); and Judiciary Square (Red).

Too Hot for Dogs

While the event is dog-friendly, attendees are encouraged to leave their dogs at home due to expected hot summer weather.
