Venus in Fur Extended Through July 24; POP! Opens July 13

There’s only one show at neighborhood theaters this weekend: Venus in Fur are at the Studio Theatre on 14th Street has been extended through July 24.

  • POP! opens at The Studio on Wednesday, July 13. “Who shot Andy Warhol? A musical murder-mystery extravaganza that peeks inside the tumultuous artistic revelry of Warhol’s infamous Factory. In the 1960s, The Factory was not only Andy Warhol’s studio space, but it was a place where artists, musicians, drug-users, and Warhol Superstars mixed and mingled.” (Studio)
  • At the Keegan Theatre on Church Street, Steel Magnolias opens July 23 and runs through August 21.
  • Theatre J is taking a breather, but the 2011-2012 season begins with Imagining Madoff on August 31.
