The Vintage model bike by Public comes in orange, blue and white.

Hi there, Borderstanis. Hope you’re find ways to stay cool in this miserable heat/humidity. I’d love to say this weather is so last season, but we all know that’d be slightly inaccurate.

As much as we’d love to stay indoors ’till fall begins, we have to find ways to get from points A to B. And we’re lucky to live in a city that offers many modes of transportation, including the various bike shares littered throughout our neighborhood. Of course, if you have the funds and are looking for your own set of wheels, I highly recommend this stylish little number from Public.

It’s totally vintage yet uniquely modern at the same time. While it comes in three colors, the orange is by far the most visually striking (blue and white are the other two colors).

The perfect accessory for this sartorial wonder on two wheels is Levi’s new 511 Skinny Commuter jeans. (You may remember from a few months ago that I’m a huge fan of this cut).

Yes, yes, I realize that it’s over 95 degrees with a humidity factor that makes taking a shower in the morning a futile exercise. Why the hell would you buy a pair of jeans now? Even though it feels that the crispness of autumn will ever arrive, it’s always good to be prepared.

So back to the jeans. Form has met function with this denim miracle by Levi’s. Not only does it have a sleek shape and great dark wash, it’s got a higher rise and stretch fabric which makes it perfect for hopping on your bike. They’ve even added reflective tape on the inside of the cuff, which allows for greater visibility for riding at night.

Of course, you don’t have to ride a bike to wear these jeans. But it doesn’t hurt. That’s it for me this time, kids. See you soon.
