It could still happen, according to Washington City Paper. The financials of opening a theater and keeping it open, given nearby competition from Gallery Place and Georgetown, are thoroughly discussed in the City Papers follow-on piece. As residents of NW, do you think it’s a problem that all the area theaters are in this quadrant of the city? A “high-end brand name retailer” is also taking a look at the space. If you are interested, there is a meeting on Thursday, November 17, at 6:30 pm to discuss the future plans; location is the Warehouse, 645 New York Avenue NW.
